Lynda and Al were killing time yakking about NEVER BE GODLY:

AS> But reincarnation doesn't work unless you can remember previous
AS> lessons....or lives, in this case.

LB> Why? I don't recall learning how to walk or talk, or how to control
my
LB> bladder ...yet the lesson stays with me.

AS> Good point.

:) thank you.

As far as I have heard, that's how the idea of reincarnation works...between
lives, you know what you've learned, what you still need to learn, minus
the
emotionality and vagaries of physical existance that lead us to be blind
to
ourselves.

You choose your lessons, set your path. Failure to learn a lesson means
you
will continue, through life after life after life until you get it right.
Then onto the next lesson.

I would think, in such a context, remaining aware of the circumstances of
all the other lessons would be distracting rather than helpful, rather like
daydreaming about the novel being read in Lit. class during a math exam...
thinking about it is not, in itself a BAD thing, simply inappropriate at
that
moment, since it keeps you from devoting yourself to the task at hand.

Lynda and Al were killing time yakking about Warring Christanic Factions:

AS> I wonder how many people who used to castigate Mike will now all of
AS> the sudden go on how reasonable and nice he is. This should be very
AS> interesting.
AS> I think I'll become a Wiccan high priest. It's one way to win
AS> friends and influence people around here...

LB> Oh! That's so special, Al! A subtle accusation of him "sucking up" to
LB> the heathens....

AS> Odd. You're the only one who seems to have drawn that conclusion,
AS> including Mike himself.

Odd. As of the moment you wrote the above, you hadn't spoken with Michael
at all on the matter, one way or another. God tell you what his take on
it was?

Oh, and I've already gotten one comment suggesting it was a bit of underkill
to call it subtle. Your barometer for knowing what everyone thinks doesn't
seem to work so well, Al.

Now, explain to me this....would it be accurate to conclude from this that,
when you point to someone being in some sort of agreement with you - whether
it be a person here, or a literary reference - that to you, SILENCE on the
matter indicates agreement with whatever you are seeking support for?

LB> Guess, THAT sort of statement is as standard as "why are you so
LB> bitter".

AS> Not at all. I'm overjoyed that Marilyn, for instance, is speaking to
AS> him again.

Cool. Doubt she had your joy in mind at all. What does that comment have
to do
with the statement of mine directly preceeding it?

Ah, where were you ten years ago when some sparky happy person told me
"Don't worry...nowadays, living 5 years after diagnosis is possible for
almost
50%!!" Not what you want to hear 6 months after getting married and still
watching your kids get used to the new guy.

MG> something that can kill, but can also remit for along periods of time.
MG> As long as the anti nuclear antibody remains constant and the pattern
MG> does not change, things can remain fairly status quo.

*nod* Exactly. When it's bad it's REAL bad...but having those around you
already mentally burying you doesn't make it real easy to fight it. Stress
doesn't CAUSE lupus, but it can worsen the symptoms, and lupus patients
need
all their resources to fight the disease. Finding for one's place in daily
life shouldn't be what one has to do with one's own family.

MG> If she wants to remain barefoot and pregnant, Lupus almost always
MG> remits during pregnancy, but you gotta be pretty desperate to take
MG> that route.

hehe...I can attest to the salutary effects of pregnancy on the symptoms,
however I found out the hard way that its not always so kind to the child.
Babies of lupus patients tend to be low birth weight...stupid immune system
tries to fight the KID too. My last was spared, at large expense, from
the
long term effects by being monitored and delivered early, as soon as she
was
developmentally ready for it. She gained weight faster after birth than
she
would have had she remained in the womb for the full 9 months.

Now....what positive effects do being barefoot have on lupus? ;)

JB> Excuse me? That's like saying being face to face doesn't lend itself

JB> and try to edit out all your own internal inconsistencies.

AS> Yep. There's that. One can make a better case if one proofreads and
AS> goes back and tries to iron out inconsistencies.

Commonly referred to as "spin doctoring".
If your case was as strong as you insist it is, why are there so many
inconsistancies to try to iron out?

JB> Just because you don't think well on your feet doesn't mean that
JB> others can't.

AS> As you will. Although I notice that Mike also seemed to think this
AS> was a better forum for such.

heheh...what is this obsession you have with tossing names about to back
up
what you say?

1. Michael acknowledged that it is a better forum for YOU to work within.
Judith could as easily suggest that he was, in his own words, backing up
her view. IRC works quite well for the sharing of ideas...it only becomes
difficult to those whose agenda is to be RIGHT, rather than to engage in
give and take.

2. Who do you think it impresses when you always toss off one of our names
as being in agreement with you? The person to whom you are speaking? In
most
cases, no, as that person has either already read the same comment you have,
or has spoken on the matter to the person in question. And in any case,
none
here set their opinions according to who agrees with them. It is also
unimpressive to the person BEING named - a matter that has often come under
discussion between those of us so 'chosen'.

It only impresses you, al. why do you continue to do it?

RE: North Pole Downsizing

North Pole Downsizing.

The recent announcement that Donner and Blitzen have elected
to take the early reindeer retirement package has triggered a
good deal of concern about whether they will be replaced, and
about other restructuring decisions at the North Pole.

Streamlining was appropriate in view of the reality that the
North Pole no longer dominates the season's gift distribution
business. Home shopping channels and mail order catalogues
have diminished Santa's market share and the North Pole Board
could not sit idly by and permit further erosion of the
profit picture.

The reindeer downsizing was made possible through the
purchase of a late model Japanese sled for the CEO's annual
trip. Improved productivity from Dasher and Dancer, who
summered at the MIT Diemer Business School, is anticipated
and should take up the slack with no discernible loss of
service. Reduction in reindeer will also lessen airborne
environmental emissions for which the North Pole has been
cited and received unfavorable press.

I am pleased to inform you and yours that Rudolph's role will
not be disturbed. Tradition still counts for something at
the North Pole. Management denies, in the strongest possible
language, the earlier leak that Rudolph's nose got that way
not from the cold, but from substance abuse. Calling Rudolph
"a lush who was into the sauce and never did pull his share
of the load" was an unfortunate comment, made by one of
Santa's helpers and taken out of context at a time of year
when he is known to be under executive stress.

Effective immediately, the following economy measures are to
take place in the "Twelve Days of Christmas" subsidiary:

- The partridge will be retained, but the pear tree never
turned out to be the cash crop forecasted. It will be
replaced by a plastic hanging plant, providing
considerable savings in maintenance.

- The two turtle doves represent a redundancy that is simply
not cost effective. In addition, their romance during
working hours could not be condoned. The positions are
therefore eliminated.

- The three French hens will remain intact. After all,
everyone loves the French.

- The four calling birds were replaced by an automated voice
mail system, with a call waiting option. An analysis is
underway to determine who the birds have been calling, how
often and how long they talked.

- The five golden rings have been put on hold by the Board
of Directors. Maintaining a portfolio based on one
commodity could have negative implications for
institutional investors. Diversification into other
precious metals as well as a mix of T-Bills and high
technology stocks appear to be in order.

- The six geese-a-laying constitutes a luxury which can no
longer be afforded. It has long been felt that the
production rate of one egg per goose per day is an example
of declining productivity. Three geese will be let go, and
an upgrading in the goose selection procedure will assure
management that from now on every goose it gets will be a
good one.

- The seven swans-a-swimming was obviously a number chosen
in better times. The function is primarily decorative;
therefore, five mechanical swans are on order to replace
the seven live swans. This will provide a tighter swim
circle, thus saving space...consistant with our new,
smaller headquarters building and modular furniture
concept. Current swans will be temporarily retrained with
new strokes to enhance performance prior to their out
placement.

- The eight maids-a-milking concept, as you're aware, has
been under heavy scrutiny by the EEOC. A male/female
balance in the workforce is being sought. The more vocal
maids consider this a dead-end job with no upward
mobility. Automation of the process may permit maids
a-mending or a-mentoring options.

- Nine ladies dancing has always been an odd number. This
function will be phased out immediately as these
individuals have grown older and can no longer do the
steps. Early voluntary separation incentives and/or
special separation benefit exit bonuses will be offered
that will greatly reduce the cost of paying full
retirement to these individuals.

- Ten Lords-a-leaping is overkill. The high cost of Lords
plus the expense of international air travel prompted the
Compensation Committee to suggest replacing this group
with ten out-of-work congressmen. While leaping ability
may be somewhat sacrificed, the savings are significant
because we expect an oversupply of unemployed congressmen
this year.

- Eleven pipers piping and,

- Twelve drummers drumming is a simple case of the band
getting too big. Outsourcing and privatization with a
string quartet, a cutback on new music and no uniforms
will produce enormous savings which should drop us right
down to the bottom line.

We can expect a substantial reduction in assorted people,
fowl, animals, HQ North Pole size, office space, and other
expenses. Though incomplete, initial studies also indicate
that stretching deliveries over twelve days has been
inefficient. Plans for one day drop shipments will greater
improve customer service levels.

Regarding the lawsuit filed by the attorney's association
seeking North Pole expansion to include the Pole's legal
office, "thirteen lawyers-a-suing" action is still pending.

Today's global challenges require the North Pole to continue
to look for better, more competitive steps. Future
restructuring is not beyond consideration since deeper cuts
may be necessary to stay competitive. (Inside trading
information on downsizing the seven dwarfs in Disney's Snow
White Division has again given us the edge we needed)

Finally, our new Manpower and Quality office will be
presenting our North Pole Strategic Plan next year (only a
few days away!) as we continue to consolidate, refine,
streamline, outsource, privatize, and build the Most
Efficient and Effective Organization (MEO) possible. New
initiatives are underway to review and reengineer every North
Pole activity...stay tuned for updates!

We're too late! It's already been here.

Mulder, I hope you know what you're doing.

Look, Scully, just like the other homes: Douglas fir,
truncated, mounted, transformed into a shrine; halls decked
with boughs of holly; stockings hung by the chimney, with
care.

You really think someone's been here?

Someone, or something.

Mulder, over here-it's a fruitcake.

Don't touch it! Those things can be lethal.

It's O.K. There's a note attached: "Gonna find out who's
naughty and nice."

It's judging them, Scully. It's making a list.

Who? What are you talking about?

Ancient mythology tells of an obese humanoid entity who
could travel at great speed in a craft powered by antlered
servants. Once each year, near the winter solstice, this
creature is said to descend from the heavens to reward its
followers and punish disbelievers with jagged chunks of
antracite.

But that's legend, Mulder-a story told by parents to
frighten children. Surely you don't believe it?

Something was here tonight, Scully. Check out the bite
marks on this gingerbread man. Whatever tore through this
plate of cookies was massive-and in a hurry.

It left crumbs everywhere. And look, Mulder, this milk
glass has been completely drained.

It gorged itself, Scully. It fed without remorse.

But why would they leave it milk and cookies?

Appeasement. Tonight is the Eve, and nothing can stop its
wilding.

But if this thing does exist, how did it get in? The
doors and windows were locked. There's no sign of forced
entry.

Unless I miss my guess, it came through the fireplace.

Wait a minute, Mulder. If you're saying some huge
creature landed on the roof and came down this chimney,
you're crazy. The flue is barely six inches wide. Nothing
could get down there.

But what if it could alter its shape, move in all
directions at once?

You mean, like a bowl full of jelly?

Exactly. Scully, I've never told anyone this, but when I
was a child my home was visited. I saw the creature. It had
long white shanks of fur surrounding its ruddy, misshapen
head. Its bloated torso was red and white. I'll never
forget the horror. I turned away, and when I looked back it
had somehow taken on the facial features of my father.

Impossible.

I know what I saw. And that night it read my mind. It
brought me a Mr. Potato Head, Scully. It knew that I wanted
a Mr. Potato Head!

I'm sorry, Mulder, but you're asking me to disregard the
laws of physics. You want me to believe in some supernatural
being who soars across the skies and brings gifts to good
little girls and boys. Listen to what you're saying. Do you
understand the repercussions? If this gets out, they'll close
the X-files.

Scully, listen to me: It know when you're sleeping. It
knows when you're awake.

But we have no proof.

Last year, on this exact date, SETI radio telescopes
detected bogeys in the airspace over twenty-seven states.
The White House ordered a Condition Red.

But that was a meteor shower.

Officially. Two days ago, eight prized Scandinavian
reindeer vanished from the National Zoo, in Washington, D.C.
Nobody-not even the zookeeper-was told about it. The
government doesn't want people to know about Project Kringle.
They fear that if this thing is proved to exist the public
will stop spending half its annual income in a holiday
shopping frenzy. Retail markets will collapse. Scully, they
cannot let the world believe this creature lives. There's
too much at stake. They'll do whatever it takes to insure
another silent night.

Mulder, I-

Sh-h-h. Do you hear what I hear?

On the roof. It sounds like...a clatter.

The truth is up there. Let's see what's the matter.

As to posting being bullshit, if your writing leads me in that

I have of reading you is by means of your typing.

I've been paying attention.

CG> Being English, I expect people to read my messages before

Same as we do. So?

Shouldn't that have been `Ergo?' One would expect a

Pretty amusing the attempts to reconcile that. First,
there is the assumption that he was the "beloved disciple" of
GJohn. ("See, Jesus liked me best!")
Anyhow, he supposedly dug his grave and had people throw
dirt over him. However, to reconcile this with GJohn's promise of
the return, the claim was made that you could see the dirt moving
up and down at Epheseus with his breathing.

Yep.

As you probably already noticed, I just suffered from an OD

I think it's no coincidence that he harps on the "proof by
martyrdom" so much in his apologetics.

HEY! That was -MY- idea.

Actually, I would make it a legal requirement that all adults carry
a sidearm and be required to use it whenever a criminal act was
observed.

I would further extend that to say that any criminal would be deprived
of his weapon and would be fair game thereafter.

AS> But that's the point.
AS> If He faked it, He knows He didn't fulfill the prophecies. So God
AS> wouldn't find favor in it.
AS> IF He was NOT faking it, but hoping that God would rescue Him...why
AS> didn't
AS> He die? It's not like Roman soldiery didn'thave lots of experience
AS> seeing whether a man was dead or not...and making sure of same.

AS> Probably. He would have thought it more likely to have his legs
AS> broken, as happened to the two thieves.

Oh, no. The prophecy said his bones would not be broken. He HAD to
"die" before that could happen.

AS> Ok. Let's say He was expecting God to come rescue Him. He goes into
a
AS> deathlike coma. The others put on graveclothes on Him, and put Him in
AS> a sealed tomb.

Not sealed. They expected to come prepare his body after the Sabbath.

AS> He wakes up. Comes out of His coma. He is in a sealed tomb, so
AS> probably the air is getting rank, filled without all the fragrances
AS> with which they
AS> put on his body (from the hundred pounds of stuff, it probably
AS> smelled like a perfume factory.) He gropes around, IN THE DARK, and
AS> although a few
AS> minutes ago so near death that people thought he WAS dead...and moves
AS> a stone that is SEALED, and which two grown women of an era where a
AS> lot of women did heavy manual labor were wondering how they could
AS> move. Andrenelin? We're talking more SUPERMAN here.

We're talking outside help, here.

AS> And after that, with wounds in His feet, He walks the ten miles to
AS> Emmaneus.

May not have been him at all. He was not recognised at the time.

AS> And when the disciples see Him, they don't go, "Good grief, you're
AS> alive, but you look like death warmed over, sit down and I'll get a
AS> doctor..." instead they all want to be like His "resurrected" self.
AS> Do you believe it? I don't. I would much rather believe a
AS> Resurrection than that bad combination of clumsy writing and
AS> unbelievable situations. What might work MARGINALLY better if for
AS> JEsus to enter a deathlike coma, but stir enough to clue Joseph He was
AS> still alive. So Joseph puts Him in a special tomb which has a hidden
AS> passage that leads to Josephs's home in Jerusalem....
AS> And Joseph has doctors care for Jesus, and convinces Jesus that His
AS> survival is a miracle.
AS> That ALMOST works...unless you start to wonder why in the world
AS> Joseph had a tomb with a hidden passage. It's like all those bad
AS> movies where every castle or old house had a secret passage. It would
AS> have to be dug ahead of time....
AS> See what I mean how alternative explanations violate what we DO
AS> know about human nature and situations, whereas we have no way to
AS> evaluate the probability of a Resurrection?

I wouldn't buy that version either.

Heilsa, Don!

While bumping down stairs after Christopher Robin, Gwenny the Pooh heard
Don say to Gwenny:

DM>> Hey, WOAs! Can we have a hearty round of sniff for Miss
DM>> Defenseless here?

GTP>> Mistress if you please, or you'll feel the bite of my
GTP>> whip.

DM> Allright, _Mistress_ Defenseless, then, Shrinking Violet of the
DM> American West.

What a cute concept. . .me, shy.

GTP>> (btw, what is a WOA, I've been busy lately and haven't kept up on
GTP>> stuff.)

DM> Wicked Old Atheist, of course. You know--the people who, for the
DM> most part, do no good deeds.

What about the Wicked Young Atheist. . .does s/he do no good deeds.

Heilsa, Curtis!

While bumping down stairs after Christopher Robin, Gwenny the Pooh heard
Curtis say to Gwenny:

Heilsa, Gerry!

While bumping down stairs after Christopher Robin, Gwenny the Pooh heard
Gerry say to CHRIS:

CG>> I wish everyone a pleasant December the 25th, and a Good New Year.

GD> Are you trying to be politically correct, or are you afraid of the word
GD> Christmas and what it stands for?

I think he was trying to be courteous, since only a portion of the folks
that post here celebrate Christmas. It might have been better if he had
said Happy Holidays, since few of us celebrate our festivities on the 25th.
That is the day for Christians, Mithras worshippers, and seculars. Pagans,
Jews, etc have different days for their stuff.

You know, Tiggy, the mommy of my new grandson, asked me what the real topic
for this echo is, since we so seldom discuss religion. Does anyone know
what the most posted about topic is?? I mean, all you atheists don't have
anything to do for the next couple of days, so you have time to figure it

Heilsa, Chris!

While bumping down stairs after Christopher Robin, Gwenny the Pooh heard
Chris say to Dan:

CG> As to being in the top 1%, yes, according to MENSA, I understand you
CG> have this organisation in America! :-)

MENSA!? MENSA?! Don't tell me that you belong to MENSA!
I've taken their test. I passed. But I've never been tempted
to join. If I was an insecure loser who wanted to sit around and try to
impress other insecure losers, I might reconsider. However, I am a very
secure just-above-average-intelligence person who doesn't think that just
being intelligence is enough. I have found that, usually, the higher a
person's IQ the less likely they are to have any social skills or common
sense. Excuse me, but I'll stick to being a merely bright person with lots
of friends who doesn't make stupid mistakes.

How about the college entrance exams. I scored in the top 1% of all the
college bound students. . .except in Math. Like Marty, I managed to avoid
learning math in high school and paid for it later. And like Marty, they

Heilsa, Chris!

While bumping down stairs after Christopher Robin, Gwenny the Pooh heard
Chris say to All:

CG> Being English, I expect people to read my messages before they start
to
CG> answer them.

And, therefore, soooooo superior to us colonials. I know a number of your
fellow country wo/men who have decided to make the USA their home. You
all do seem to be a little full of yourselves. Note I say seem, as I have
not met any English person who was still living in England. (I suppose
I shall someday, when I try to track down my great grandfather's kin. Not
alot of hope, since he was a foundling on the steps of a church in Ratshillbatshill,
but I can try anyway.) I tend to be willing to forgive you all your condescending
manners, since you are responsible for Dr Who and Monte Python.

Ahhhhh, we just finished our annual Long Night Celebration. . .10 hours
of non-stop Monte Python. I was a little disappointed that we couldn't
find Eric the Viking, but we did the Meaning of Life and The Holy Grail,
so I can't complain TOO much. Oh, and the episode with the dead parrot.
I LOVE that episode.

My skin, my bones, my heretic heart are my authority,
Gwenny

Heilsa, Sean!

Hey, dearie, snagged this off the Filk echo. Thought you, and some of the
other Cthulhu lovers might like this. It's actually pretty good.

a> Calling on the Wind
a> Sing to: "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas

a> You think you know the only god to pray to
a> And Cthulhu's just myth beneath the sea
a> But I know all the names of all the Old Ones
a> All my life, have their spirits, lived in me.

a> You think that every god must look like people
a> And not some icky thing from outer space
a> But if you walk beside Nyarlathotep
a> You'll meet things that have no face, that have no face

a> Have you ever seen the Shoggoth in the pale moon light
a> Or asked the cats of Ulthar why they grin?
a> Can you sing to Azathoth high in the mountains?
a> Can you hear Cthulhu calling on the wind?
a> Can you hear Cthulhu calling on the wind?

a> Come follow hidden paths that lead to nowhere
a> Come taste the fresh cut fungi from Yuggoth
a> Come roll in lotus flowers brought from Sarnath
a> And for once, dream the dream your kind forgot

a> Byathis and his kin they are my brothers
a> The Black Goat's thousand young they are my friends
a> And we will someday merge with one another
a> In a mythos, in a tale that never ends

a> Have you ever seen the Shoggoth in the pale moon light
a> Or let the Deep Ones speak of where they've been
a> Can you sing to Azathoth high in the Mountains
a> Can you hear Cthulhu calling on the wind?
a> Can you hear Cthulhu calling on the wind?

a> Where does the Miskatonic flow?
a> If you dam it up, you won't ever know

a> And you'll never see the Shoggoth in the pale moon light
a> For whether we have scales or human skin
a> We need to sing to Azathoth high in the Moutains
a> We need to hear Cthulhu calling on the wind
a> We need to hear Cthulhu calling on the wind

a> You can sail the seas and still
a> He will wait and dream until
a> You can hear Cthulhu calling on the wind

a> Shareright (sr) 1995 James Westbrooks
a> This and all my songs (?) may be performed or distributed freely as long
a> as you credit me as the author (and don't make any money in the
a> process, the operative word here being "free"). In fact, I would be
a> hugely complimented if someone were to sing any of my material.

My skin, my bones, my heretic heart are my authority,
Gwenny

Here's another one. . .

ks> Tune: Cecilia*

ks> CHORUS: Cthulhu, you're breaking my mind.
ks> My sanity's vanishing daily!
ks> Oh, Cthulhu, I'm down on my knees
ks> I'm begging you, please -- go away,
ks> Go away!

ks> I picked up this ancient book
ks> By some guy named Abdul Al-Haz'red (Al-Haz'red)
ks> Read two chapters; now it seems
ks> You're disturbing my days and you're haunting my dreams.

ks> CHORUS

ks> Half-awake in the early morn
ks> With my lover sleeping by my side (by my side)
ks> When I feel a nameless dread
ks> And I turn on the light, I find you in my bed!

ks> CHORUS

ks> Hiding out in the afternoon
ks> In a room at Miskatonic U (hiding out)
ks> Elder Signs from ceiling to floor,
ks> And there's star-stones to block off the windows and door.

ks> Consternation! He's found me again,

Since you never answer messages posted in your alias name

but are allowed to keep posting reglious junk messages,
how fair do you want it ? I've yet to see you debate anyone in
either name.

> DH>>>> Forcing people who want to die to stay alive. Why make sense?

> RV> would be another can or worms.

DH>Oh, there is never any shortage of people who know better than others
DH>how those others ought to live or die. When you count the number of

This is true,if to no one else, then myself. Someone, somewhere will
always know better then I, as to how i should live my life. What ever
the problem in life, i'm going through. Someone, somewhere, will ,with
joy, tell me how I'm wrong and perhaps tell me a why.

DH>assisted suicides (even the number of suicides) it is a VERY small
DH>part of the population. There are many more people talking about it
DH>than are seriously considering it.

Again, I would say, likely true. Somewhat like a female who will
abort a possible child. Most times it's not a simple decision at all,
there usually is a lot of thought behind it. Again, I'm only looking at
this from my life and those i know or have knowen.

For me, I'm a chicken with pain and know i would cut the cord ie:life
when it got too bad or a combination or pain and a down mood. My left
over family know this, may not like the idea; but if it happen, they
would finally understand when the anger was temper with time.

Each person has their level of tolerance, Neither I nor anyone else
should have a say, when that level has been passed.

> RV> It is what i would support, then like i also indicated. Even I, would
> RV> find it hard to allow the young access to it and thats not being
> RV> fair.

DH>Do you think that's a similar phenomenon to the people who don't trust
DH>the terminally ill to end their own lives?

I can see it a bit that way. Some days, the pain of life seems too
great and yet, a few days later. The pain has drop and life goes on.
For myself, ignoring that all will die... when it's a knowen killer of
life and a young person. That case, nope, for them, they should be
allowed to carry out their wish, when they wish it.

This bit of holding on, a cure may happen someday, is a poor reason for
those who are in pain , to hang on or not be allowed to die . That
is sick and just another form of torture. I'm dealing with body pain not
just mental pain. I do know of the difference of the two.

The combination of both body and mind pain is a deadly combination
anyhow. To finish the bodys pain, more so, when you understand
that it will never leave off, ever. I know I couldn't handel it, why
make a stranger have to handel it.

As to mental pain, I know of that, and also know , that I'm not sure
of what my view on it is. Some days it's a YES - allow it and other
days it's a 'HOLD On', it will pass and be less.

Here again, I'm only speaking of my experience, and with that, does it
give me a right to speak for others. In reality, and to be truthful, I
would have to say ' NO ' , i can't speak nor do I have the right to
speak for anyone else.

That I got pass my pain and finally solve it, doesn't mean everyone
will. We, are not all the same.

I'm also fairly sure that if there wasn't such a negitive effect
of self killing, I'm fairly sure i wouldn't be here now.

> RV> I've always wonder to myself, if i have the right to interfear in
> RV> their life. They may have presented their wish to me and
> RV> if i happen to have turn them on their path, by accident i may turn
> RV> them on a worst path. That is my biggest fear when this happens.

DH>We are not that powerful that we are responsible for the lives of
DH>others in such circumstances. If a person has been raised entirely

I will beg to differ. We are that powerful. That person, to tell me
his , his pass and what he could see ahead.{ his life }
I did have power since i also had his trust. With that and since i could
see where he was comeing from. I did have power, a form of anyhow. I
could of painted the picture {future life} blacker and what is the use
to go on, or even try {life}. Because i may question your opinon, doen't
mean i will always question it. This does or may give you power over me.
Your forgetting that part of the human experience. We, humans sometimes
get very tried of wanting to look for answers ourselfs.
So again, i say, as a human, we can be that powerful ie: any abuse
situation done via words for control shows us this.

DH>We are not that powerful that we are responsible for the lives of
DH>others in such circumstances. If a person has been raised entirely
DH>within an environment from which that person will choose death to
DH>escape, one other cannot take responsibility for the choice of
DH>direction at each corner. That childrearing will not be undone in

The Final choice, is the fianl actor in life. But as a careing human
of my fellow person, i do have to question myself. Do i have the right
to question or to hand out information that may or maynot change this
person opinon on going on trying. Agree, most don't bother, and they
just toss it out or force it in their life. Those who care, will always
question themselfs before giveing any opinon, that one must live at any
cost.
Again, I don't buy that any cost bit. I may hate to see a friend die too
soon , but I also understand. I may be wrong, I may
be, VERY WRONG. I must also understand that I will never likely know
either way. Right or Wrong. In reality, there
there is no real answer. This likely will only effect those with no god
and the final answer. I personally don't think there will ever be a easy
answer to the question, to live or not.

DH>a few conversations. If we are the first positive presence in such
DH>a tragic life, how could something we say cause a death if we are
DH>acting without doubt in that person's best interest?

Not in the fact of something we said that cause them to live or die.
In this case i was thinking of something, I may have said that caused
them to live, but in their liveing they caused others to suffer. When i
say suffer, i'm thinking of an abuse situation or takeing someone else
life or more then another life. By my speaking, it may of been positive
for the liveing of them, but they, in their liveing caused
more harm then if they died young. Hitler would be a good example. Thats
along the idea i was talking of. < extreme example, i know >

DH>If we were to earn a trust and betray it, yes, that could mitigate
DH>suicide. But that would take a betrayal.

For those few who understand their own mental life and can understand
how and the why they do things,. It gets easier to
understand others and to lead them. If the target is a lazy thinker, I
would say it would also be easy to lead them to the edge and give a
mental push. Thats one of the reasons, I'm always questioning myself,
I've tried in small ways to see if I could control others with a word or
two. I also didn't feel so great when i found i could. I will always
question what i do and the why i do it. Those who have a low opion of
themselfs are easyer to control, I only have to look to myself for that.
I've don't such a great job there, that it's taken years to beat the
bad effects and some days those effects are still in control.

Ok. So, I'm the one thinking of the radio program. Of all the
SF books i have readed. Thats one author, I've never read. I had
Orson Welles, tied into that war of the world. I guess one of
these days i should read the orginal book by the real author.

Thanks.

GT>Yes.

Perhaps I should of said, " it seems like . . ." . It's more my
problem then the so called 'God Believer', if a god profess to
be true to that god or even themselfs. Why can't they just come out
with .. I don't understand....I don't know why.... perhaps it means
... type of thing. Instead they come out with a postive statement even
if that statement has been showen to be unproven or a direct lie.

They [to me] are lieing to themselfs. A person who continues to do
that, and thinks it's good. Will never be trusted by me. Like i said,
it's my problem.

The chap that was the hub for a bit did it with the news groups ,

Now Al. Look to what your saying here.

The fact the god thumpers drag a god out of some bible and wave it all
over the place is no different then Sir Apple Sauce . Actually,
Sir Apple Sauce is closer to telling the truth. At least his characters,
in his fantasy have lived and others can check their pass lives and any
writeing done by said character. The thumpers of god or gods, can't even
pull that much EVIDENCE for their fantasy.

Better be careful, of who debunks whom.
