it.

JL>I started on children's books. I didn't use the television to learn to
JL>read...or are there Teletubby books, too?
(Wince) yes there are. I was looking for a birthday present for one of
my toddler nephews. A fun 'learn to read' type book by Lobel. Yet
those mindless braindead insults to the young eager to learn human mind
are indeed in book form. So isn't Barney. One can learn to read
anything Joe. For some people content means nothing. They figure on the
kid won't understand anything anyways, ignoring the fact that human
beings STORE information and such is tapped into as we DO learn to
understand things.
This reminds me of how it is we learn to talk. My grandmother chatised
me for talking to my 3 mo. old brother. He was WATCHING my lips move
btw and LISTENING to my voice. I told her HOW DO YOU THINK WE LEARN HOW
TO TALK! Sheeze. And while context may not mean anything to the child
at the time they are hearing it, it may- later on as they develope.

You have a point there hon. They don't WANT to be dumb, they want
to be cool which for some means playing dumb. Which IS dumb and in long
term effect reality, not cool at all. ((Fonz saying, "heyyyyy"....))
JL> CH> I don't know about that Joe. Seems here in America it's generally

You got a teenager Joe? ehehehehe.. Sigh. I agree with you happily that
not ALL teenagers expend smarts to play cool. But many do. :(

It is revolting! Tragic even. Fortunately (so the "experts" say) it's
often just a "phase" all kids go through and USUALLY grow out of.
Methinks some kids never grow out of it though, clear on into
adulthood. :( (((Trolling comes to mind))).
JL> JL>with others. Given the choice, I don't think they would pick dumb.
